Heart and Vascular

New Technology

For patients who suffer from the most serious form of heart attack—called ST elevation myocardial infarction or STEMI—treatment available at the Heart & Vascular Center can mean the difference between recovery and death. We are one of the few cardiac centers in our region equipped with the rapid-response care team and specialized technology required to properly respond to a STEMI, as well as effectively treat a wide range of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular conditions. Our state-of-the-art equipment includes:

  • The InfinixTM DP-i, an X-ray system that offers faster tests and more comfort for patients, and higher-quality images and advanced software capabilities to help cardiologists make the best possible treatment decisions.

Patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD)—a blockage of a blood vessel in the legs—benefit from the technologically advanced equipment in our Peripheral Vascular Lab. For example, physician uses a new device to precisely drill through a blockage in the main artery that runs from the hip to the knee. Through that opening, they can place a stent, which keeps the artery open and the blood flowing. A smaller version of the device does the same for the arteries below the knee. As a result, patients can get relief from the pain of PAD and regain their ability to walk comfortably.
