Adult In-Patient Services

Facing the reality of mental illness can be frightening and challenging—for the person experiencing the symptoms, as well as friends and family members. The staff of St. Helena Hospital’s Center for Behavioral Health walks with patients and those who care about them, offering short-term evaluation and treatment in a safe, supportive and caring environment.

Our relationship begins with a comprehensive assessment, including psychiatric evaluation, medical history and physical evaluation, psychosocial assessment. From there, we work closely with patients and their loved ones to create an individualized plan of care.

Comprehensive and Personal Care

Each patient in the Center for Behavioral Health receives a daily visit from a doctor. In addition our team of physicians, registered nurses, counselors and other professionals ensure that care plans are carefully followed and that patients are monitored for progress and to make any necessary adjustments in the care plan.

Patients benefit from a varied and active therapeutic program at the Center for Behavioral Health. Opportunities include:

  • Psychotherapy groups
  • Educational groups focused on recognizing and controlling symptoms, as well as medications and treatments
  • Groups focused on developing social, communication and daily living skills
  • Physical activities and exercise.
