Terry Newmyer, President and CEO of St. Helena Region and the Northern California Network of Adventist Health

Terry is a long time health care leader and strategist. During his years as CEO for the three St. Helena Hospitals, (St. Helena Napa Valley, St. Helena Clearlake, and St. Helena Vallejo), he has guided and improved performance from million dollar monthly losses when he arrived in early 2009 to black ink performance for the region in periods that followed. His greatest professional joy since moving to this region was the 2012 recognition of St. Helena Hospital Napa Valley as top in the west in the NRC Picker patient satisfaction surveys.

In 2011 his duties were expanded to include the role of President for the Adventist Health Northern California Network, which includes the Saint Helena Region three hospitals, plus the two Adventist Health Hospitals in Mendocino County. The five hospitals combined, employ approximately 2,500 people, have over 300 physicians on staff, and generate $400 million of annual revenue.

Terry came from Florida Hospital in Orlando, the largest acute-care hospital in the nation. As Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer, he successfully led a $130 million result for a single fundraising campaign, plus secured alliances valued at over $90 million with companies such as Walt Disney World, GE, Philips, and Nike during the same period.

He has an MBA from Andrews University. His career highlights also include Senior Vice President of Lakeland Regional Health System in Michigan and National Strategy Partner for KPMG Peat Marwick in Dallas.

Terry enjoys his family values, spending as much time as he can with his wife, Magaly, and their two adult sons. He has a two year old granddaughter in Florida. She makes his eyes sparkle and keeps him busy with trips back to the east coast to enjoy the moments of joy she produces.
